STRANDBAGS CHADSTONE — New Concept Retail Design — 2015
Developed alongside the new brand positioning for the 92 year old Australian retailer, the new concept Strandbags store at Chadstone Shopping Centre aims to create a retail environment for the modern Australian on the go; a space that celebrates the digital age by architecturally integrating technology at varying touch-points.
The two entrances help define the two offers that Strandbags cater for – Fashion and Travel – and although the two worlds are juxtaposed by the use of materials, they are carefully balanced to create a unified space for the customer to explore at their own pace. The navigation through the store was crucial for creating areas of discovery that could equally showcase and hero products, but also act as a library for volume displays that are architecturally defined.
The scale of the store allows for a dedicated area within Fashion to celebrate the brand’s Leather offering. Anchoring the rear of the store, the destination is defined by a clean, white palette with attitude and features a crisp neon sign that reinforces Strandbags’ commitment to be ‘Always by your side’.
